That I’m bored.

Like dangerously bored and my depression is creeping in. I fucking hate this mental illness - DSM 5 calls it Persistent Depressive Disorder. I was having a pretty good day and then I finished my paperwork and the phones stopped ringing... and now I’m being washed over by a wave of melancholy for no good goddamned reason. Fuck. And I’m doing all of my cognitive behavioral training to combat it but I just want to go lie down and wallow in my depression for some reason.

Time to get up and get a fucking Pepsi.

You allowed to listen to music at work? Put on a pump-up playlist and get into a groove, if that helps. Use the internet to learn something. For example, the Boston Molasses Tsunami. Or Project Acoustic Kitty. Things to keep your brain on other things.

I have depression and really get what you’re saying. I’m a student so I have some down time and I really need to keep occupied to prevent it getting to me. I tend to do a lot of DIY jobs for people and such to help combat it. I damn nearly lost the plot before I went on my meds though, they really turned things around for me.

My meds were life-changing for me. Unfortunately, through chronic use, they’re beginning to lose their efficacy. I’m on Wellbutrin and Prozac and they’re beneficial, but some days the black dog just shows up and lies down in my lap.

I’m on Fluoxetine (basically Prozac). I still have bad days but they made my life so much better. I first went on them 3 years ago then quit (that was dumb) and started again in January. On 20mg a day at the moment but the doctor recommended doubling that on bad days. Hopefully they don’t begin to wear off too soon...

I know that feeling...

as long as im busy im fine. But even when im trying to sleep, just laying in bed when everything is quiet, weird thoughts creep into my head.

You have any little hobbies? Like building model cars or something? Hell, even just watching a movie can help me
